Everyone got a close look at the Pipeline’s future champion at this year’s Pipemasters. JJ took out Danny Fuller, Heitor Alves, and Bobby Martinez, before being stopped in the 4th round by one of the Hobgoods. He was stuck needing a 6.80 at the end of the heat, holding priority , but the ocean went flat! Everyone on the beach was super impressed by JJ’s obvious comfort and knowledge in the Pipeline lineup, as he posted some of the highest scores of the entire event. Congratulations John John -

JJ posted the highest heat score of the first round to combo Danny Fuller in good, 6 foot Pipe and Backdoor! He was stoked for the win, and just as stoked to be surfing his favorite wave with only 3 other guys out!! Watch his heat (round 1, # 14) and check out his interview after he gets out of the water.
