Ordering
How do I order a Pyzel Surfboard?
There are multiple ways to purchase a Pyzel Surfboard and we’re here to help you through each one..
- Your local Pyzel dealer/surf shop. We ship Pyzels to various towns, cities, states, and countries around the world and highly recommend checking out your nearest Pyzel dealer. Surfboards are unique to each surfer and while you can find a board that works for you online, there’s nothing better than holding one under your arm and supporting your local surf shop through the process.
- A Pyzel Surf Supply store. We currently have 2 Pyzel Surf Supply locations in North America, 1 in Oceanside, CA and 1 in Waialua, HI. In these stores you’ll find most models well stocked in a wide variety of sizes, colors, and fin options. Our employees are well experienced in Pyzel Surfboards and are there to help you find your perfect match. Feel free to head into a Pyzel Surf Supply store or call ahead for any questions.
- Shop online via pyzelsurfboards.com. Through our volume calculator, LiveChat, Technology pages, and more information across our site, we’ve made it easier to order your Pyzel online. You can order a stock or custom Pyzel and have it shipped to your door or ready for pick up at a Pyzel Surf Supply store nearby.
Can I cancel my order?
We completely get it, we change our minds too! While we wish could, once an order is placed, we are unable to alter or cancel it at this time. We hope to have a cancellation window one day in the future.
Should the item(s) not work out, make sure to exchange for a preferred style or return for a refund. As a reminder, domestic return shipping is free.
Can Pyzel rush my custom order?
Rushed orders are not available at the moment. Please reach out to our customer service agents for any questions regarding needing your order by a certain date.
Please take into account shipping normally adds 1-2 weeks onto your production/ship date.
While we estimate production times we can not confirm your board will be done by any specific time and can not take responsibility for a board ordered but not 'done in time'.
How long should my custom order take?
Current production estimates are about 4 weeks for a clear PU and 8 weeks for EPS, but due to many variables, we do not guarantee delivery dates. Any artwork adds at least 1-2 weeks to your boards production.
Is my board done yet?
You can track the stage your board is on our board tracker page. Your serial number can be found in your confirmation email, then plug it into the text box on the tracker page.
Whether you ordered a stock or custom, please allow 48 hours for your order to be processed & 3-5 days for packing and shipping confirmation.
Once your order is shipped you will receive an email with tracking or (cargo) pickup information.
How are pyzel's glassed?
Below are the expected glassing schedules for most boards, but all in-stock surfboards will provide their glassing under the ‘board features’ description on its designated page.
Shortboards (6’4 and under) - Stock 4+4/4oz
Mid Length/Step up (6’5 and over) - Strong 6+4/4oz
Padillac (6’10 and over) - Strong 6+6/6oz
Which glassing option should I choose?
We suggest stock glassing for most shortboards, however we provide options to suit your style, size, etc.
Our stock 4+4/4oz is overall the best option for performance, strength, & weight. Feel free to move up to a stronger glassing option but keep in mind that when you increase strength you also increase weight.
What are the differences in construction?
Check out our technology pages for more info on PU, EPS, Electra, Electralite, and Electralite Plus+ construction.
Reach out to our LiveChat boards agents to find out which will suit you best!
What stringers and foam does Pyzel use?
Our EPS blanks consist of 2 lb EPS foam. This is generally the best option considering weight & strength.
Our PU blanks are supplied by Arctic Foam and are customizable on request. PU density’s consist of yellow for shortboards & green for Padillacs. The stringer sizes below are what we use on all Pyzel’s.
Shortboards consist of a 1/8“ stringer.
Mid Length Crisis up to 7’2” with generally have a ⅛” stringer. 7’4” MLC’s & up will have a ¼”. These can slightly vary depending on supply.
Padillacs up to 9’3” will have a ⅜” stringer. 9’4” & bigger will be a ½” stringer.
What volume should I ride?
Throw your numbers into our Volume Calculator as a good reference for what you need under your feet.
Reach out to our Pyzel board agents on our livechat or sales@pyzelsurfboards.com for more suggestions & confirmations on the right fit for you!
Shipping, Returns & Exchanges
Can I have my boards shipped to my local shop?
All online orders must be shipped direct to your home, work address or nearby cargo airport, but you can find your local surf shop via our Dealer Locator to cut down on shipping fees & support local.
What is air cargo shipping & how does it work?
Air cargo is the safest & cheapest way to ship surfboards. The process starts with us booking your surfboards ticket as you would book a seat on an airplane. Once we’ve dropped the box off at the airports cargo office which is normally just outside the main airport terminals, it will take roughly 1-3 days to get to your designated airport where you will be notified by the cargo office when it’s ready for pickup.
Follow these 3 steps for an easy air cargo pickup experience:
- Specify your desired airport at order checkout in the ‘comments’ box. We will send it to the specified airport or reach out if there are any issues.
- Our team does 1 cargo run each week, so your order will normally ship within 5-7 days. Once it is on the way, you will receive a shipping confirmation email including an Air Way Bill # (AWB) with your cargo carriers tracking page link. On this page you will be able to track your order and click on the carriers cargo facility for any information on pickup address, hours, etc.
- Once your package has landed and is ready for pick up all you’ll need is your AWB# & ID handy at the cargo office. We highly recommend checking your board for any damages at the facility, especially if the box looks to be crushed, crunched, protruding, broken, etc. Any damage claims will need to be filed with the cargo agent at the time of pick up. Pyzel is not responsible for any claims not filed at the cargo office
What is Pyzel's Return Policy?
In short, only unridden stock boards that are still considered brand new by us can be returned within 72 hours of purchasing or receiving shipment. Pyzel Surfboards has the right to deny any returns on custom orders or boards that have been used/ridden/altered.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping prices are calculated at checkout based on the size board/items in cart and your location.
What happens if my board is damaged in shipping?
