You could say things began for Pyzel Surfboards back in 1996, but that wouldn't give credit to the years of labor leading up to the day our company was legally founded. When Jon first moved to Oahu back in '92, he worked for Country surfboards repairing dings, then working his way up to laminating/hot coating and shaping along the way with guidance from Jeff Bushman.

Soon after, Jon's shaping career began to take off and a young kid nearby named John John Florence started ordering some Pyzel's off him. With Jon's shaping expertise plus guys like the Florence brothers, Mark Healey & more team riders who joined along the way, Pyzel Surfboards began to really take off to evolve into a now global company, producing those same quality high performance surfboards around the world.

While Jon's shapes have grown rapidly over the years with World Titles, Eddie victories, Olympic appearances, and more accolades along the way, Jon Pyzel keeps true to what got him here in the first place; surfing, family & surfboards.
